New drivers of the Black Beast
The Black Beast was a hit all day long, with people of all ages getting the opportunity to sit in the Alco and pretend they were racing down the Long Island Motor Parkway.
The memories of getting to sit in a 100-plus-year-old race car stay with you forever. It was smiles all day long as families got to touch and learn about the history of the Vanderbilt Cup winning race car.
Ride Alongs in the Black Beast
North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jennifer DeSena is seen here getting a ride in the Black Beast with Howard behind the wheel.
It's one thing to see a vintage race car parked, but to see it in motion is on another level. The entire show had their eyes and cameras as Howard drove around the car show in the Black Beast.
Cars that caught our eyes at the East Williston car show.
The following is a selection of cars that caught our eyes at the East Williston car show.
1949 Mercury mild custom
1935 Plymouth Custom. This Plymouth (if I remember correctly) was the owner's first car when he was young, and now it has been turned into a restomod hot rod.
Drum Roll please...
Speaking of centennial celebration; The Alco Black Beast was given the Centennial Award “for the vehicle that best represents the last 100 years of automotive history.”
